About Us

Indus Cottage Libraries Network was established in 2015 by the a group of Writers, Intellectuals and senior Government bureaucrats and Judges for the promotion of Education through  Libraries activity in Pakistan. To promote the reading and writing habits among the youth of Pakistan. It has been started with spirit of development the literary environment through reading the books and writing on the topics studied in the books by acknowledging the honor of books and support of writers of Pakistan. All the Book Readers, Writers, Authors and Head of Institutions are invited to join us with this great job and help us to make Pakistani society well literate.


1) Be our Patron: If you will give the donation of Rs: 30000 to 50000 for purchasing of books, and book shelves you will be our Patron and your good name with Photograph will be displayed on the library dedicated to your good name and our website with thanks.


2) Be a Book Ambassador: If you are the author of books and donating the books for our network, you will be our Book AmbassadorICLN will acknowledge your donation of the books with thanks, and display the books separately in the corner in ICLN’s libraries of the schools and will be acknowledged on ICLNS’s website.


3) Be a Book donor: If you grant us the donation of books from your personal collections or publications of your Institution for our network you will be our Book donor. Your books will be donated to the Network with acknowledgement and thanks. 

Conditions for the Membership and working with ICLN Pakistan:


1) Every Book lover who is giving us one room for establishment a Library for our network with two shelves or two cupboards, he can be our member.


2) Our signboard will be displayed outside of the School building for Public information.


3) A photograph of the Library with shelves and cupboards may be emailed on our web page or Indus Cottage Libraries Network/facebook pages. ICLN will welcome and become in contact with the persons who are willing and interested to establish the libraries in the schools where they have completed their Primary or Secondary Education


4) For the registration of the member ship and offer for the establishing the libraries in schools or Guest rooms/ Guest Houses. A member ship forms will be sent to the persons who are interested to establish libraries.


5) It is our humble desire that ICLN Pakistan through library activities will bring young generation back to books and connecting them with latest knowledge of the world Sciences, Poetry, History, and culture of the country. (ICLN) Pakistan has been launched 800 libraries in collaboration with the different donor organizations in Pakistan, including 110 libraries in the Schools of Sindh province in 07 Districts. We have established 25 libraries in the Schools of Shikarpur District and conducted 400 activities in which 1000 students have participated in the reading and writing activity only in shikarpur District.


2- It is the need of time that the network of establishing school Libraries in remote areas of Sindh to promote the library culture and book reading and writing habit in the students and teachers of the primary and secondary Schools on grass root level. It has been proved a result oriented and fruitful effort to promote Education.


3- The Sindh Government has issued a notification to the Municipal and District Council and District Administration to support ICLN Pakistan Sindh Chapter to establish libraries in the Schools. The Department of the Education has issued the same notification to conduct the libraries activities in the schools of Sindh through ICLN Pakistan


4- In current year 2018-19 Indus Cottage Libraries Network (ICLN) Pakistan has planned a scheme for establishing 100 new libraries in Government High Schools of different remote areas of 6 Districts (Badin, Thatta, Mirpurkhas, Jamshoro, and Sanghar, Jacobabad) in sindh.


5- These are the activity based libraries in which 20 activities will be conducted for one year in Boys and Girls schools.


6- The ICLN will deliver the certificates and school begs along with writing Note books as gift to Best Readers of the Year to the students and the Teacher who participated in hour weekly Library Activities.We will welcome our intellectuals and Education Lovers who will cooperate with ICLN Pakistan in this regards to promote the library culture in Sindh.Founding board of Governors of ICLN Pakistan
